Pig price build-up

VION Farming announces the pig price once a week. This is the ‘Franco Bordes’ price (including the costs of supply and VAT). Different payment tables apply to the different market concepts and the focus for payment is on the meat-to-fat ratio. The relevant bandwidth depends on the market concept. Other important elements are of course the slaughtered weight and the meat percentage.
In addition, pig farmers are given an insight into the costs that are incurred. These include such costs as the costs of supply, organisation costs, such as payments to the PVE (Dutch Product Board for Poultry and Eggs), cleaning and disinfection and the CBS insurance.

*          This is the basic listed price per kilogram of slaughtered weight for slaughter sows with classification type A. This price is including VAT and ex farm, and is corrected for the eventual classification in accordance with the advice issued by the PVV (Dutch Product Board for Livestock and Meat).

 

**        This is the price per group of piglets with an average weight of 23 kilograms. Several mark-ups and/or discounts apply to the price that is actually paid, such as for any deviations from these average values.

 

***       Transfer price per kilogram up to 25 kg: 0.80, 25 to 30 kg 0.60, over 30 kg 0.40.
